This mask is unfortunately one of the most punishing, as the effects of the other Masks can be nullified with good play.

The first Faceless mask that will be unlocked is Faceless Mask of the Long Night, which is obtained after your first full clear of a Horrific Vision. We're taken a picture of the spawning animation for the Horrific Figment below. When it hits the ground, the Horrific Figment will spawn and that's when you're put in combat. You'll need to look for a small purple orb projectile that flies out of you and starts making its way towards the ground. It's rather hard to see sometimes, but if you're paying attention, you can be ready for it. However, there is a spawn animation for the Horrific Figment, which can give you some notice when it's about to happen. The reason it's so dangerous is because it can put you into combat when you're not expecting it, preventing you from putting down a Sanity Orb and potentially making you Sanity out. It doesn't have much health (~200k) and killing it can actually proc Gift of the Titans, which is useful on long boss encounters. This Horrific Figment will automatically aggro onto you, no matter your current location and will run towards you Aggroing any mobs along the way. When you're below 50% sanity, you'll randomly spawn a Horrific Figment add periodically. This Mask is something that can cause you to fail your Horrific Vision run if you're not paying attention. While below 50% sanity, occasionally an enemy of the void will spawn and attack you. Faceless Mask of Dark Imagination - While below 50% sanity, occasionally an enemy of the void will spawn and attack you.Faceless Mask of the Pained - Each area will consist of 2 Madnesses (instead of 1).Faceless Mask of the Daredevil - All Sanity damage caused by creatures is increased by 400%.Faceless Mask of the Burned Bridge - Moving causes void zones to spawn in your path and drain sanity if standing within them.Faceless Mask of the Long Night - Reduces Maximum Sanity by 50%.In addition to the above, each mask has a unique effect. If multiple masks are active, their effects are added.
Each Faceless Mask that is used will increase the health and damage done of all creatures in the Horrific Vision, in addition to a unique negative effect, but also increase the number of Corrupted Mementos that you'll receive!Īll 5 Faceless Masks share this same effect. Horrific Visions have a scaling progression system that can be acquiring and activated called Faceless Masks.
